DIY coffee coconut body scrub
I have been obsessed with Homemade Body Scrub recipes
lately. I decided to make a Coffee Sugar scrub recipe of my own this weekend.
It is so easy and very inexpensive. I found the recipe online and choose the
easiest one and I kept reading it over and over again just because I can’t
believe my own eyes that it is so easy-peasy to prepare. WOWZA!
This homemade version is super frugal compared to those you
will find on the market. Of course, the cost will depend on the price of the
products you choose. I would say that my cost was around RM6 a jar.
The logic behind coffee scrubs is that they not only
exfoliate, but also the caffeine in the coffee helps diminish the appearance of
cellulite…hmmm…we shall see about that….not that I have cellulite. You should
know I am flawlessly perfect. The
coconut oil is said to hydrate.
What we like most
about these coconut coffee scrubbers is the little sizes them come in so you
don’t have to use a big bar and can take them with you easily when you travel.
You just can’t beat the combination of coconut and coffee for feeling good in
the shower or bath.
What You Need:
1 Cup of Coffee Grounds (Grinds)
1 Cup of Raw Sugar
1/2 Cup of Coconut Oil
I read a lot of recipes for coffee scrubs and some of them
were quite fancy. I looked at all the possible ingredients and decided I really
wanted a basic, stripped down recipe. I choose to use sugar, but some recipes
called for salt. I also used coconut oil even though you could use olive oil or
any other oil if you prefer.
Directions:
Combine ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Then fill your
container. Brand it like what I have done here

I think the scrub has a great texture. It isn’t too “wet”
because of the coconut oil. I am sure the texture would be different if you
substituted the oil.

I haven’t used this in the shower yet, but I did use it on
my hands. Very nice.
Remember, that this recipe does contain oil so if you plan
on using in the tub or shower you will want to exercise caution. I am sure if
you get this on the floor of your tub or shower it will make it extra slick.
Also, you may want to use a plastic container if you plan on keeping this in
the tub or shower.
