Introducing solid to Your baby

Image
As a first time mother, it is always exciting to see your baby growing up from one phase to another. As your baby gets older, He  need to start on solid food so he can get enough iron and other essential nutrients for growth and development. It is interesting to know that, for about the first six months of life, our baby uses iron stored in his body from when he was in the womb. He also gets some iron from breastmilk/formula milk that we fed. When is the right time to start on solid? I understand that we always get excited and cant wait to start our baby on solid. I always get adrenaline rush whenever  I shop for Lohit's menu. We just cant wait to give them the experience of new tastes and textures from a range of foods and to watch their reaction when they experience different arrays of taste. However please don't get carried away with your excitement to start solid. Babies digestive tract, especially below 4 months old is still developing and is not mature enough.

Navadurga art by lylasharleega

Inspired by my favourite artist roovalijuan, I started my own series of navadurga sketches. Being a working woman. It was rather difficult for me to balance between work life, prayers and sketching. Shailaputri Navaratri begins with a night of worship and celebration in honor of Shaliaputri, whose name means "daughter of the mountains." Also known as Sati Bhavani, Parvati, or Hemavati, she is the daughter of Hemavana, the king of the Himalayas. Shaliaputri is considered to be the purest embodiment of Durga and the mother of nature. In iconography, she is depicted riding a bull and holding a trident and a lotus blossom. The lotus represents purity and devotion, while the prongs on the trident represent the past, present, and future. Bharmacharini On the second day of Navaratri, Hindus worship Bharmachaarini, whose name means "one who practices devout austerity." She enlightens us in the magnificent embodiment of Durga with great powers and divin

Logandran weds Leela Devi

I always love South Indian Tamil weddings- the saree, the colourful flowers, the garland, the nathaswaram, the rituals, the countless emotions, the food and everything about it. It is always spectacular and spellbounding. Logandran and I had a traditional Hindu wedding in our favourite temple, Sri Maha Mariamman temple at Kota Kemuning, Klang, Malaysia.   Since the temple itself has a beautiful architecture design, we didn’t spend much time cracking our head to get grand decoration and mandap. The welcoming ranggoli kolam by ‘Siran Arts’ was a talk in the wedding. The spectacular rice kolam illustrated the image of a groom and bride riding horselooks like a red carpet of the event. The wedding although was set to be simple, it was colourful enough to create a glorious impact. I wanted the wedding not to be set with a theme color, hence I came out with rainbow colored saree for my bridesmaid. but unfortunately, 3 of my bridesmaid couldn't turn up for understandable reason. (Pochi da…) Another boring scribbles….. you may think, but I believe, one fine day, maybe after 30 or 40 years passed by or even more, when your skin  were covered with wrinkles, and when your hairs is coated with silver layer(or maybe hairless), when your gums have no longer tooth to hold, , when your bones start giving you a crack sound whenever you move(ouch),you will be taking a sip of coffee,  sitting somewhere, maybe in the balcony of our house, reading my blog,  adjusting your glasses, and at that time you will be smiling reading this line, thinking how sweet I was and have been in expressing my love <3  you will be proudly showing this to your grandsons and daughter- look your patti was the one who was crazy on me…. I bet Or Maybe you are going to be hot grandpa like this…I wonder… In many more years will come, each and every words of this scribbles is going to be telling its own tale of triumph or sadness,  each representing a phase in our life

Happy New Year 2016

Image
Here we go again. A year has past and I can't deny that I get a little melancholic. Mostly about things that I haven't done.  Oh, 2015, you were mediocre. Not great, but not aweful either. The most important things in life, such as health and love stayed pretty much untouched. For the past years I have had the feeling, that I work towards something. That I have to lay the concrete first, in order to built a project on it. It finally feels like the concrete is down and has dried and strong enough to carry projects. Some decisions have been made already and the first steps have been taken. I start this new year with a blank book. I don't feel I carry any unfinished business into 2016. So what could be better than a blank book, with pages to fill? Maybe I needed 2015 to be mediocre, since 2016 certainly is going to be real fun. I haven't had a resolution list in a long time and if I had one things like gaining weight (even though I should) or doing more sports (I doubt
